Mr. Ron Soffer is a graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem School Of Law.

He began his legalcareer in 1981 as an intern in the Administrative and Constitutional Law Department of the Israel Ministry of Justice.  He then joined the International Law Branchat the military judge Advocate General´s office of the Israel Defense Forces and was admitted to the Bar of Israel in 1984. 

In 1990, Mr. Soffer was admitted to the New York Bar and worked at the legal department of a major New York Bank. He was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1992, following which he was a partner at Martinet & Associés, before creating his own firm in 1994, Soffer Avocats. 

He has substantial experience in litigating cases in France, but also at an international level (Switzerland, Luxembourg, Holland, Germany, Hungary, Malta, Morocco, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States) coordinated complex multi-jurisdictional litigation in criminal, civil and commercial matters. The areas of law litigated over the years include in particular: criminal law, administrative law, art law, international human rights law, European law, private international law, commercial law, patent cases, copyright and data case protection, antitrust, unfair trade practices, scientific development contracts, French and international contract law,banking and letter of credit law, securities litigation, data privacy, multijurisdictional inheritance cases and real property.

Mr. Soffer is well versed in the rules of U.S. discovery, and other procedural aspects of U.S. litigation, especially its impact on Europeans andEuropean entities. He also presented cases to the French Competition Authoritywhich led to significant decisions in antitrust case law.   

He was asked to join the international Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (the international division of the American Arbitration Association). On 2014, he became a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and  a Fellow of the CIArb. 

Furthermore, he litigated cases before the European Court of Human Rights and is on the list of counsels admitted to act before the International Criminal Court in The Hague, as well as a member of the scientific committee of the Criminal Law Institute of the Paris Bar.  

On several occasions, Mr.  Soffer lectured before Israeli judges about comparative legal procedure. He also teaches, as a visiting professor, a two-week course about the European Court of Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Faculty of Law.
